Speakers Carly Walters
Carly Walters is an Environmental Technician at Trinity Consultants Canada and a Master of
Science student in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies at the University of Northern British Columbia.
She works in the Freshwater Fish Ecology Lab, where her graduate research examines the effects of climate change induced warming on rainbow trout (Oncorhynchusmykiss) thermoregulation and the energetic costs of temperature-driven habitat use. Her research applies analytical and field-based methods to support science-informed management and decision-making.
Carly brings over eight years of experience in environmental consulting,
primarily on hydroelectric and mining projects across Northern British Columbia. Her expertise includes fisheries and aquatic field work, data analysis and technical reporting, project planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her work reflects a commitment to applied research that integrates Indigenous partnerships for sustainable resource development.
