Backed by two decades of international commercial roles in the LNG sector, Jan is the Founder and CEO of Arder Energy, an advisory firm dedicated to turning power into a competitive advantage for Western Canadian industry.

Prior to founding Arder, Jan served as Executive Vice President and VP Commercial at PetroChina Canada, where he was accountable for Commercial, Marketing, IT, and Supply Chain functions and served as a member of the LNG Canada Executive Committee.

Jan’s career began with Shell in London and The Hague, followed by a secondment to one of the world's largest energy projects, Sakhalin 2, as Contract Manager. In Canada, he provided M&A deal support before joining the LNG Canada Project as Commercial Deal Lead.

He holds a Master of Science in Finance from Texas A&M University and a Graduate Industrial Engineering degree from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany. His executive experience is supported by a suite of international risk and accounting credentials, including CPA, CMA, ACMA and ARM designations.
