Speakers Lorne Doerkson
Lorne Doerkson was first elected as the MLA for Cariboo-Chilcotin in 2020 and re-elected in 2024. He currently serves as the Assistant Deputy Speaker of the House.
Prior to elected office, Lorne spent 20 years in the newspaper industry, followed by roles in the automobile industry and financial services as a self-employed professional.
He also held executive positions with organizations such as the Williams Lake Stampede, the Chamber of Commerce, the BC Community Newspaper Association, and the Hough Memorial Cancer Society.
Lorne is a long-time resident of the Cariboo-Chilcotin area.
