Sébastien Ross holds a degree in industrial engineering from Polytechnique Montréal and also a graduate degree in engineering management from the University of Sherbrooke.

He began his career in 1997 as a plant manager for a division of Dana, Brake Parts Canada. In 2001, he joined the Lacasse Group, where he served as Vice President of Operations, Marketing, and Product Development. In 2011, he joined Bombardier Transportation, where he held positions of increasing responsibility. He started as General Manager of the La Pocatière site before being appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2013. Still with Bombardier Transportation, he took over the Berlin site in 2014, where he successively held the positions of Director of Body and Welded Subassemblies, Vice President of Rolling Stock Inventory Operations from 2016, and Vice President of Body and Welded Subassemblies Operations for 2018. That same year, he joined Rio Tinto as General Manager of Foundries for the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region and was subsequently appointed General Manager of Operations for Quebec.

He has been the General Manager of Atlantic Operations for Aluminium at Rio Tinto since January 2022.
