Chief, Williams Lake Indian Band
Willie Sellars was born and raised in Williams Lake, BC, and is a Member of the Williams Lake Indian Band of the Secwepemc Nation. Chief Sellars has worked as a Wildland Firefighter for the Ministry of Forests, before returning to his community where he earned the position of Special Projects Coordinator in the WLIB Economic Development Department.
Chief Sellars has been on the WLIB Council since 2008, and has recently been elected to the role of Chief. Willie is a published author of “Dipnetting with Dad”, which won the Gold Medal by Moonbeam, Best First Picture Book. His second book “Hockey with Dad” is due to be released Spring of 2020.
Willie enjoys hockey, cultural events, dipnetting, fastball and spending quality time with his three children.
