Lheidli T’enneh Nation
Dayi (Chief) Clay Pountney was elected in April 2019. He is one of the youngest Chiefs elected to lead the Lheidli T’enneh Nation. Dayi Pountney sat on Council for a two-year term prior to his election as Chief.
He was born and raised in Surrey, BC before moving to Prince George at age 11. He graduated from Duchess Park Secondary School.
Dayi Pountney has worked in silviculture forestry, as a Mason Tender, roofing supervisor, geological field technician and safety officer. He is also a 3rd year Machinist Apprentice and has owned two companies specializing in human resources recruitment and silviculture.
In his spare time, Dayi Pountney enjoys spending time at his wilderness cabin in the ‘middle of nowhere’ as he calls it. He also enjoys golf, mountain biking, sledding and x-country skiing.
