See Prince George’s low-carbon economy in action. By coach, you will visit four facilities that are unique in Canada: the UNBC Wood Innovation Research Laboratory, a mass-timber showpiece that now also offers rare insight into how energy-efficient wood buildings perform after fire; Lakeland Mills, a family-owned sawmill that produces all of its own heat without fossil fuels while feeding Canada’s largest municipal district heating system capable of running on 100% renewable energy; Arbios Biotech’s Chuntoh Ghuna facility, the world’s largest hydrothermal liquefaction plant converting woody biomass into renewable bio-oil; and Tidewater Renewables, Canada’s first renewable diesel and renewable hydrogen production facility.

Together, these sites demonstrate how renewable energy and low-carbon products are already strengthening the resilience and sustainability of northern industry. At each stop, representatives from the host company will guide you through the operation and take questions.
