What is the BC Natural Resources Forum?

The BC Natural Resources Forum offers a positive, non-partisan arena to discuss and learn first-hand the latest news, trends and opportunities linked to the resource sector in BC.  To learn more about the event, click here.

Who attends the conference?

The BC Natural Resources Forum generally attracts over 1,000 delegates each year, making it one of the largest conferences in Northern BC. The 2021 Forum included a huge contingent of federal, provincial and local government leaders, as well as continuing strong interest, support and attendance by First Nation leaders, representatives from resource developers and service and supply sectors that are the foundation of our resource economy.

How will the virtual conference be held?

The 19th Annual BC Natural Resources Forum will be hosted virtually from January 18-20, 2022 via the networking platform, Whova. The Forum will also be partnering with a professional production team for a high-quality broadcast of keynote addresses, live panel discussions and Q&A sessions.

When can I login into the networking platform?

The networking platform will launch before the live event dates and after Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Once live delegates will receive an email to the email address used in your original registration. This email will provide all the links and details you will need to set up your virtual networking profile.

How is the Virtual Forum going to differ from every other webinar?

The 19th Annual BC Natural Resources Forum will be far from just another webinar! With the virtual panel discussions, keynote sessions and live Q&A’s being broadcast by a high-quality production team, there will be less of a “Zoom Webinar Element” and more of a live television broadcast feel. The live session links will be available within the conference’s networking app, Whova, which will allow for you to ask the panelists questions before and during each live session.

The BC Natural Resources Forum’s networking opportunities are excellent. How will this translate to a virtual event?

The virtual Forum will be much more than that of a webinar only event and will offer a selection of networking activities and gamification in order to increase delegate participation in-between the live sessions, Q&A’s and Keynote speeches. The networking platform will feature an interactive tradeshow, exhibitor and personal breakout rooms, sponsor hall, meeting rooms and private chat functions, among other networking capabilities. Each individual who registers will have a personalized profile which will allow access to these features.

Do I have to download the app?

The networking platform, Whova is available as both a mobile app and a desktop version. Use the networking features and view sessions on the go with the mobile app or from the comfort of your home/office using the desktop version.
